This shoot is so very special to me for many reasons (not just because they have such a great last name). When I was first starting out in this business I was lucky enough to second shoot with my good friend Todd Pellowe to see if photography was what I wanted to do with my life (needless to say I enjoyed it). That Wedding happened to be Will and Alyssa’s. I met them three years ago on the their wedding day. I ended up working with Will at Starbucks and we became friends and I got to watch their family grow.
I shot Alyssa’s maternity pictures the day before she went into labor and then their baby pictures two weeks later. Now little Liam is 1 year old and looking more adorable than ever.
This shoot is also special to me because, as cheesy and cliche as this sounds, I saw the movie Tree of Life and it truly inspired me. I came away with a new perspective on life. One thing I loved so much about that movie was how is perfectly depicted a child discovering life. I’m in now way comparing myself to Terrence Malick, but there are some shots where I see Liam’s curiosity of the world around him, and there is something incredible about growing up and figuring things out for the first time. You’re somehow transported to when you were a kid and things were so innocent. That movie also showed me the beauty of life, and if you just look around you can see so many amazing things. I’m just lucky enough to have a camera to capture it!

Which brings us to today…
After the shoot they came back to my house. Liam loved Jac. This is his way of saying hello.
